Zero in on the New Fall Kite Festival Theme
Lincoln City, OR – Oh, it’s the most wonderful time of the year…. time to determine the new Kite Festival theme. The 2019 theme must begin with the letter “Z” and festival organizers are holding a naming contest to find out who can zero in on the best theme suggestion.
The naming contest started December 1st and runs throughout the month. A lucky winner will be picked in the New Year and get to name the theme for the 2019 Kite Festivals. Lucky winner Melissa Rosin, of Salem, Oregon was the 2018 winner of the theme contest. Her submission of “Year of the Kite” was picked from hundreds of entries last year.
Working through the alphabet, a new theme must be determined using the letter “Z” for 2019. Visit ExploreLincolnCity.com, where kite enthusiasts can submit their most creative entry using the letter “Z.” Multiple entries per person are allowed, provided that each submission is unique.
The naming contest ends on December 31st at 11:59 pm PST, after which a winner will be picked and announced in the New Year. Festival organizers will determine the winner based on the most creative use of the letter “Z” in relation to kite flying. In the event of duplicate winning submissions, a winner will be selected at random. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
The Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival will be held on June 22nd & 23rd. Join us at the D River Wayside as expert kite fliers from across the Pacific Northwest demonstrate their newest routines to dazzled audiences. Bring the kids for two days of family fun, including kids kite making, kids passports, face painting and photos with a real life mermaid. The festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm on both days.
