The Sitka Center is located in view of the Pacific Ocean, under Cascade Head and at the edge of the Salmon River estuary. Spiraling out from the Sitka Center's campus is an array of protected and heart-wrenchingly beautiful lands, including a United Nations Biosphere Reserve and the only Scenic Research Area in the world. They are literally a center at the edge – a place where land, freshwater, saltwater, and sky meet, and people and ideas converge, commingle, and depart transformed.

Through workshops, residencies and events the Sitka Center provides time and space for place-based reflection, inquiry and creation at the intersection of art and ecology.
