Summer Fun to Check Out

The sunshine has returned and Lincoln City is buzzing with fun summer things to do. From live music to recent business openings, you'll find plenty to do during your trip.

You may have seen them, or seen posts on social media, but Lincoln City is proud to announce our beaches are even more accessible. Explore Lincoln City partnered with Parks and Recreation and the Public Works team to bring four locations of ‘Mobi-Mats’ for those who want to get out on the sand and feel the ocean breeze a little closer. We are excited to be able to invite all levels of ability to experience our beaches. Lincoln City has acquired 750 feet of six-and-a-half-foot wide, ocean blue mobility mats, which will be out from Memorial Day to Labor Day. These mats are ADA compliant, portable, and nonslip, increasing beach access with extended pathways. They are made from 100 percent recycled polyester and are salt and water-resistant. Bring your loved ones to the D-River State Recreation Site, NW 40th St. near Chinook Winds Casino Resort, NW 34th St. Grace Hammond Beach Access in the Wecoma Beach District, and SW 51st St. in the historic Taft District to experience the ease of walking on the sand with the mats beneath you. Lincoln City also provides access to rent out a beach wheelchair at SW 51st - all you need to do is download this app.

We’ve seen the progress and tried the various food carts, but the long-awaited ‘Vin & Brau’ is now open at The Pines Dine! Enjoy your food in their 1920’s styled space where you can order a vast selection of beer and wine. On sunny days they may have their garage-style doors open to enjoy the nice weather, but on rainy days you’ll be cozy and protected. They will be hosting lots of events including live music, outdoor games, trivia nights, and more. Just as a reminder, while you can sit outside, no pets are allowed on-site as well as no food or drink of your own.

Speaking of live music, we’ve had tons recently! With help from our local businesses and partners like Parks and Recreation, we have live music happening well into the summer. Autobahn 101, and Beachcrest Brewing both host live music every weekend. In addition to that, pick a date to enjoy the Nelscott Summer Concert Series on the patio at Zugh Life Surf Shop. Not to mention, Nauti Mermaid has also taken on a live music venture with their Beach Blanket Series, where you can enjoy bbq, live music, and drinks on the sand on their back patio.

The Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative (CHBC) is pleased to announce its second annual ‘Art on the Beach’ weekend, a three-day event running July 16th, 17th, and 18th. The summer event brings together community science and artistic expression to raise awareness regarding the interdependence of humans on the oceans as well as the impacts of climate change on our coastal communities and environment. With the help of partners Chinook Winds Casino Resort, The Elakha Alliance, community volunteers, and visiting guest artist Josie Iselin, this year’s events highlight kelp forests, sea otters, and the crucial role they play in marine ecosystems.
