A Day in Gleneden Beach
You may have heard of Gleneden Beach, but did you know it’s just down the road from Lincoln City?
While you are visiting, don’t forget to head a few miles south to spend some time across Siletz Bay. Gleneden Beach is full of activities and places to explore, from shops, eateries and even a brewery overlooking the Salishan Golf Course.
One place you won’t want to miss while shopping is the Crystal Wizard. Welcomed by their shop cats who are either playing or napping on the counter, unphased and understandably relaxed, you'll enter a magical world of crystals. This place has been a staple on the Oregon Coast for 28 years. They have a vast range of stones, gems, jewelry, books, music, crystals, and other items to boost your meditations and energy. They even have a garden patio to sit and relax if you chose to wait until other shoppers are finished.
Hungry (or thirsty)? Be sure to stop in at Sidedoor Café, where they are re-opening for service on the 15th of September. In addition to their takeout options and Brooke’s General Store, stocked full of freshly pre-made items like salads, sandwiches, platters, and gifts, you will also be able to dine in and enjoy their menu. Fresh Dungeness crab quesadilla, spring vegetable risotto, halibut burger on a brioche bun, heirloom tomato soup with grilled cheese…we’re sure you get the picture. You will be welcomed back into Eden Hall, and they’ll be happy to see you later this month.
BEACHCREST BREWING COMPANY
If you’re looking for a quick snack and a beer, Beachcrest Brewing is your spot. Situated with a large outdoor patio overlooking the Salishan Golf Course, you’ll be able to enjoy rotating craft beer made right in house. They are consistently rotating new beers and experimenting with different styles. Local favorites include Siletz Bay Hazy IPA, Lincoln City Logger, and Hoppy Beach Pale Ale. They also have brought back live music, monitored and socially distant with mask requirements, every Saturday. More often then not, they have a food cart outside like Squatchsami or Calle in addition to their small snack menu at the brewery. Don’t forget to grab growler fills, cans or bottles to go!
There are many more shops that you could easily spend most of your day enjoying like Coffee & Cravings, Mangia Italian Restaurant, Salishack Tavern, Unique and Knotty, Hopscotch Toys, and more. If you can't make the Sunday Market in front of the Lincoln City Cultural Center, stop by the Salishan Farmers Market on Friday from 11-2. Or, if the Chinook Winds Golf Course is booked up, give Salishan Golf Course a call and set up a tee time.
You can easily spend a whole day experiencing all that Gleneden Beach has to offer, and you’ll return to town with some lifelong keepsakes.
