Mutt Masters Dog Show Winners

Lincoln City, OR-Mutt Masters Dog Show & Olympics was held in Lincoln
City on Saturday, May 17th. Gorgeous weather with a light breeze from
the ocean provided a beautiful day for this family friendly dog show, on
the beach in the Historic Taft District of Lincoln City. Participants
from as far north as Washington and as far south as California all made
appearances to soak in some doggie rays and attention during the annual
event. The following are the results of the 2008 event:

Tail Wag Champ was Linus of Rohnert Park, California for the second
year in a row; we’re looking forward to seeing him in 2009 for year
number 3! Lucy from South Beach, an incredibly adorable Boston Terrier
Puppy took home the gold in the Cutest Puppy category. First place in
Fabulous Frisbee Catcher for 2008 went to Razzberry from Gleneden Beach.

For the Dog/Human Look-A-Like contest, Maddee Mae looked most like her
handler DJ, as the pair strutted the beach in matching red, white and
blue getups. Fastest 20 Yard Dasher was a border collie by the name of
Deuce from Keizer and Elvis of Gresham took the prize for Sweetest
Smoocher. Best Dressed dog was Sisco, a boxer from Albany - Sisco also
caught some attention with the Best Smile award. The Towel and Sweetest
Fetch Return went to Angel from Albany, Angel placed in The Towel during
the 2007 games, and we can’t wait to have her back next time around!
Unusual Pet Trick’s winner was an Old English Sheep Dog by the name of
Furby from Hillsboro, Furby is no stranger to the Mutt Masters Dog Show
and Olympics, Furby placed first in the Dog/Human Look Alike Contest in
2007 and 2006!

A Great Dane named Zorro had the Longest Tail, though it took some
convincing to get him to let us measure it!

Best In Show for 2008 went to Ginger from Portland, who wowed the
crowds as Dandiest Dancing Dog and Best Singer. The prize basket awarded
to Ginger and her “mom” Lynne included a free overnight stay in
Lincoln City, with gift certificates for free meals and even a 2008
glass float.

Nearly $800 in proceeds from the event went to the Lincoln County
Animal Shelter, the only animal shelter local to Lincoln City - which is
located in Newport. For information on events in Lincoln City, please
