2010 Event information!

On Saturday May 15th, the FIFTH annual Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics will be held in Lincoln City, Oregon. Registration begins at 11am with the contests and shows beginning at Noon. Registration fee is $2 per dog, per category - or $15 per dog for unlimited entries. One handler gets in with each registered dog.

For humans there will be human food booths and booths with pet-related information, gifts and goodies. For the third year in a row the Mutt Masters Dog Show will offer free caricatures on a first come first served basis. So bring the whole family, even if you leave the mutt at home. Spectator suggested donation is $5 per person, kids 12 and under get in for free! A bag of dry pet food will also get spectators in for free! All dry food will be donated to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. Other donations will also be accepted inside the event.

All proceeds will go to support the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital which is opening a clinic in Lincoln City.

The Mutt Masters Categories and Rules

PHYSICAL CONTEST EXAMPLES:
1. Tail Wag Champ - Looking for fast and unique.
2. Cutest Puppy - This one explains itself.
3. Fabulous Frisbee Catcher - You throw, dog catches, longest distance catch wins.
4. Unusual Pet Trick - Anything you can get your dog to do, this one is up to your dog and his/her human!
5. Fastest 20 Yard Dash - Dog runs from helper to you-fastest wins!
6. Sweetest Smoocher - Dog kisses you, we judge the most passionate.
7. Best Handshake - You two shake on it, we judge best obedience and form.

SHOW CATEGORY EXAMPLES:
8. Best Dressed - Any costume will do.
9. Biggest Ears - The more dust they kick up, the better!
10. Dog/Human Look-a-Like Contest - Costumes encouraged.*

BEST IN SHOW:
First place winner in each category competes! NO FEE!

PEOPLE'S CHOICE:
All attendees vote on their favorite competing dog of the day! NO FEE!

Contestants should be in the ON DECK area prior to their event. It is recommended that contestants arrive early.

SCORING SYSTEM AND SHOWING METHOD:
For active categories, the MC will call each handler to present his/her dog for action, one at a time.

For non-active categories, like best-dressed contest, all the contestants will form a line or semi-circle in front of the judges. The MC will have each handler step forward and present his/her dog to the judges.

Many category scores will be the subjective decision of the judges, and their decisions shall be final. If any dispute arises, the dispute shall be resolved by decision of the representative from the Lincoln City Visitor & Convention Bureau, and that decision shall be final.

RAFFLES:
Raffles will occur throughout the day. Prizes include gift certificates, doggie and human goodies, glass floats and more!

REGISTRATION:
Registration fee is $2 per event, per dog or $15 per dog for unlimited entries. Downloadable registration forms coming soon!

ADMISSION:
Registration of a dog includes admission fee for the handler.
Spectator suggested donation - $5 per person. A bag of dry pet food will get spectators in for free!

RULES:
1. One handler per dog.
2. Handlers must be 14 years of age or older.
3. Dogs must be on leashes at all times, except for the following events in which voice control must be maintained:
a. Fabulous Frisbee Catcher
b. Unusual Pet Trick
c. Fastest 20 Yard Dash
4. Handlers must clean up after their dogs.
5. Aggressive dogs may be excluded from competing or appearing in the show if their behavior is, or might become, out of control.
6. The Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau reserves the right to alter these rules or add to them at any time, including during The Mutt Masters, to protect the health and safety of the dogs, their handlers, and the public.

PRIZES:
1st PLACE winner in each category will receive a prize package with a ribbon, and move on to compete in the Best in Show.
2nd PLACE winners will receive prize package and ribbon.
3rd PLACE winners will receive a prize package and ribbon.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE will receive a prize package and ribbon.
BEST IN SHOW
will receive a Lincoln City Weekend Package, including an overnight stay in a pet friendly lodging facility.
