Chowder Cook-off in Lincoln City, OR

This fun-filled event features a “Best Chowder” competition, local beers and wines (Saturday only), live music, kids activities, a Native American heritage celebration and much more! This year only YOUR vote matters! Help your favorite chowder take home the People’s Choice Award by casting your vote.

$5 one-day admission includes 10 tasting-sized portions. Children ages 12 and under may enter for free. Enter to win a Grand Prize package including a $500 Tanger shopping spree and weekend getaway to Lincoln City! One entry per admission.

Native American Heritage Celebration

Native American Heritage Celebration at the Chowder Cook-Off in Lincoln City, ORThe Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians and Chinook Winds Casino Resort will sponsor a day of Native American Heritage Celebration on Sunday, November 10th.

Tribal Dancers

Dancers and drummers will perform during the day’s opening ceremonies. Dances have always been significant in the lives of Native Americans and have played a vital role in religious rituals and other ceremonies.

Cooking Demonstrations

Executive Chef Jack Strong of Chinook Winds Casino will teach you how to prepare some authentic tribal dishes.

Story Telling

The Native American culture is known for its rich oral tradition using verbal language to share their history, customs, rituals, and legends through vivid narratives. Listen in as Agnes Emma Baker Pilgrim, a Native American spiritual elder from Grants Pass, Oregon and Granddaughter of the first elected Chief of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz, connects the past and the future through traditional storytelling.

History & Crafts

The Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society will host a booth with a raffle and information on the history of the Siletz Tribe. Hands-on Native American craft actives including beading and necklace making will be available all day.

Musical Performances

The inheritance of voice and place makes for a powerful union. Though acoustic in nature, Mark’s music is strangely expansive – it’s original in sound, soulful and groove oriented. His presence is warm and unpretentious. Poetic, yet simply profound, here’s someone faithfully doing what he’s supposed to do. He performs with that conviction night-in and night-out. When you see him, when you hear him at work, you’ll understand why friends are talking – about ‘the real’ Mark Alan.

Ivie-Meziere Trio

The Ivie-Meziere band performs electric and acoustic blues with vocals and smooth jazz instrumentals. The band performs as an acoustic trio and an all electric band with horns! The trio was formed to supply the perfect live music experience where ambiance is important. The trio has performed at brewpubs, wineries, and other prominent venues and private events throughout the region.

Location & Parking

The Tanger Outlets in Lincoln City, 1500 SE East Devils Lake Road. Parking is available in the parking garage on the east side of the outlet mall (look for the signs and attendants!).
